Cart (AKA Ruby Cap) is the name they gave me when I arrived from Caliente but my foster mom called me Ruby. My hock was broken at the track and I spent a bunch of months healing. I was adopted right away but have been returned because the living situation of my family changed and I didn't fit in any more. I wasn't with them too long and I really hope that I can find a new "forever home" soon. See my little, feminine, almost “elfin” look? You can’t miss the sweetness in my eyes and attitude...I’m a true lady all set for retirement life. Being five years old and only weighing sixty-five pounds (don’t tell anyone I divulged that secret!), you can see how dainty and lovable I am. My new foster family has a large “pack” that I’ve joined in with and that’s a lot of fun having others to hang out and play with. Every now and then I go off by myself, lay on my doggy bed and just daydream for awhile. Retirement life so far has been wonderful...can I share it with you?

We need foster homes!!! If you’re even slightly willing to be talked into fostering… need to hear more information, ask questions, please give Deb the chance to bend your ear! Call her at (818) 298-1872, or email her: Deb Ward. We’ve got a bunch of great foster homes, but they’re full. Our picnic and major adoption event is coming up; this is a great opportunity for us to adopt out our foster dogs. We have dogs ready to go into foster homes (coming out of Mt SAC) as soon as we can find those homes for them. And we’re getting urgent emails from our contacts at the track, that many dogs are waiting for us in the pet kennel. We can’t bring them into retirement without more foster homes. We bring in as many greyhounds as we have foster homes for. We know there are many dogs waiting, but we don’t have many homes available . If you can foster, please contact Deb. . First time foster homes are always welcome! Let's make this a happy retirement day for as many hounds as we can.

Auction Item Donations Needed! Are you a crafter? Can you sew, do woodworking, make stained glass windows, make fun balloon animals? Okay, the balloon animals might not work so well, but just about anything else creative will! We need unique items that can be auctioned off during our live auction events at both the picnic and the Christmas party. If you have anything to donate, or if you are interested in making something to donate, let Charity know. Your items will be featured on our website prior to the event. If you aren't creative, consider donating restaurant gift cards, event tickets, gift certificates, wine, pet supplies, or anything else purchased. Our auctions are some of our largest fundraising events, help us make them successful!
