Bring a friend! Everyone is welcome to attend our picnic; if you haven't been to one before, they are a lot of fun! You can bring an expen, blankets, chairs, and set up somewhere in the park where you can hang out with friends, meet other greyhound people, and shop at all of our vendors that come to the picnic! We also serve lunch (included in the registration fee) and have games, auctions, and more! Visit the picnic page for more details and registration information.

Robin
Hi, my name is Robin. and I came to Fast Friends in a different way... rescued from the streets on the outskirts of Bakersfield rather than the track in Tijuana. Oh yes, I was a tattooed racing greyhound; but the fellow (make that the ‘bad guy’) who picked us up from some racetrack, dumped us out of his truck on the side of a road in Bakersfield...I have to say, the truck never slowed down! However it happened, we were both injured after being thrown out of the truck, but Fast Friends Greyhound Adoption got us to a vet, paid all our bills, found us foster homes, and named my friend Batman and me, Robin. I came in with sore feet (now healed) and cuts from having been dumped on the highway...I look a lot better now as you can see from my pictures. My foster family has been super and say only good things about me: I’m affectionate, inquisitive, happy, friendly, and outgoing...and that’s the truth! I like to talk when I’m excited and happy, I get along with all of the small dogs and large dogs that are a part of the pack in my foster home...I just ignore the cats! I’m not quite two years old yet and am looking forward to finding a forever home soon. Fast Friends rescued me in every sense of the word and they are anxious to find that very special family that will love me as much as I’ll love them.

We need foster homes!!! If you’re even slightly willing to be talked into fostering… need to hear more information, ask questions, please contact us. We’ve got a bunch of great foster homes, but they’re full. Our picnic and major adoption event is coming up; this is a great opportunity for us to adopt out our foster dogs. We have dogs ready to go into foster homes (coming out of Mt SAC) as soon as we can find those homes for them.  And we’re getting urgent emails from our contacts at the track, that many dogs are waiting for us in the pet kennel.  We can’t bring them into retirement without more foster homes.  We bring in as many greyhounds as we have foster homes for.  We know there are many dogs waiting, but we don’t have many homes available .  If you can foster, please contact Deb. .  First time foster homes are always welcome!  Let's make this a happy retirement day for as many hounds as we can.

Auction Item Donations Needed! Are you a crafter? Can you sew, do woodworking, make stained glass windows, make fun balloon animals? Okay, the balloon animals might not work so well, but just about anything else creative will! We need unique items that can be auctioned off during our live auction events at both the picnic and the Christmas party. If you have anything to donate, or if you are interested in making something to donate, contact us. Your items will be featured on our website prior to the event. If you aren't creative, consider donating restaurant gift cards, event tickets, gift certificates, wine, pet supplies, or anything else purchased. Our auctions are some of our largest fundraising events, help us make them successful!
